This course provides skills and knowledge to bring to professional life an understanding and appreciation of contemporary social issues and heightened skills in social research and analysis, and assists in career development. It prepares for new employment opportunities in a variety of public and private sector contexts requiring social scientific research and analytical skills. It is designed to complement existing knowledge gained from an undergraduate qualification in any recognised area including business, humanities, sciences and education. It also offers advanced, individualised learning opportunities providing a pathway to the Master of Sustainability Studies.
A bachelor degree in any field of study from a recognised tertiary education institution.
Creative overlap between current employment and study is emphasised - students may be awarded credit for prior learning and demonstrated skills.
This fee-paying course is two semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study.
A student who has completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval from the Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate award(s) approved for this course are:

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
