Syllabus: |
Applied anthropology and development. A study of practices, problems and processes in applied anthropology for development and planned culture change. Recent issues and strategies in 'popular participation' and 'alternative development'. At a theoretical level, conceptions of culture and power, knowledge - both western and local and agency in the development encounter. Students must produce a major research project. |
