Syllabus: |
Electromagnetic radiation, production and properties of x-rays, interaction of x-rays with matter, absorption of x-rays. The physics of magnetic resonance (MR), motion within atoms, hydrogen nucleus, alignment, precession, Larmour equation, resonance, MR signal, Free Induction Decay (FID), relaxation, T1 recovery, T2 decay, T2*, pulse timing parameters K space. Non ionizing radiation safety. Radiobiology and protection, biological effects and safety of non ionizing radiation, International, Commonwealth and State legislation controlling the use of ionizing and non ionizing radiations. |
