Syllabus: |
Descriptive statistics, graphical display of univariate data (histogram, stem and leaf, box plot), basic concepts in probability, conditional probability, Bayes rule, discrete and continuous distributions and properties, mean and variance of distributions, introduction to well known probability models - Binomial, Poissson, Geometric, Normal and Exponential, central limit theorem, confidence interval and test hypotheses. Chi-square test for goodness of fit. |
