Syllabus: |
Optical microscopy - components, care and maintenance, theory, light sources, Kohler illumination, lenses, eyepieces, resolution and depth of field. Contrast methods of bright field, incident light, dark field, phase contrast, fluorescence. Stereomicroscopy and photomicrography. Electron microscopy. Secondary electron, back scattered electron and x-ray detection in the scanning electron microscope, signal processing, data presentation. |
