Syllabus: |
Biomechanics and orthoses - Normal and abnormal foot mechanics. Compensation in frontal, transverse and sagittal planes. Methods and validity of measurement. Mobile and rigid foot types. Introduction to computerised gait analysis. Casting techniques and manufacture of functional orthoses. Medical Imaging - Dangers of radiation, equipment used, radiographic projections, interpretation of x-rays and reports relevant to podiatry. |
