306930 v.1 Graduate Certificate in Clinical PhysiotherapyGradCertClinPhysio(Curtin) IntroductionThis course has been developed to provide recent graduates with the opportunity to continue their professional development as a lifelong learner. Course Entry Requirements/PrerequisitesA bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in physiotherapy is required from a recognised tertiary institution including a minimum of six month's relevant clinical experience at a postgraduate level. These applicants must either be registered physiotherapists in Western Australia or be eligible for temporary registration from the Physiotherapists Registration Board of Western Australia. Specific RequirementsApplicants for this course should refer to the Communicable Diseases Section of this publication. Evidence of successful completion an approved course in (CPR) first aid is required before an award is granted. Students are required to be registered with the Physiotherapist Registration Board of Western Australia if they undertake a unit involving clinical practice within Australia. Recognition of Prior LearningApplications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Up to one full unit based on six months of full-time relevant clinical experience may be applied for. Documentation and evidence must be submitted detailing the hours and caseload. Duration and AvailabilityThis fee paying course is of one semester full-time or equivalent part time study and is also available externally. Additional Course ExpensesStudents may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study. Special NoteProspective applicants are advised that the program requires full participation in laboratory classes where practical skills and topics are presented. Essential learning strategies demand that all students disrobe appropriately to act as subjects for their peer group.
