The course also aims to provide relevant industry experienced management staff without a first degree the opportunity to acquire a formal qualification in that discipline. Course Entry Requirements/PrerequisitesA bachelor degree in business, commerce or a related area together with either a postgraduate qualification in a related field or at least two years in a senior level tourism managerial role. Applicants with other relevant qualifications and or experience may be considered for admission but may be required to complete additional foundation units. Specific RequirementsCandidates without sufficient background may be required to complete one or more of the following foundation units before commencing the first stage - Cross Cultural Communication and Transitions 580, Tourism Management (Principles and Practices) 560, Tourism Management (Impacts and Influences) 565, Human Resource Management (Overview) 560, or Professional Practice 580 or Professional Practice 595. Recognition of Prior LearningApplications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Duration and AvailabilityThis fee-paying course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. Some units are available during the evening. Professional RecognitionDepending upon the major area of study chosen, graduates are eligible for membership of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Management.
