Introduction


Designed to provide the relevant theoretical foundations and techniques of management, law, logistics purchasing, and contract administration, via case studies and practical business applications. A range of issues are studied that are applicable to strategic procurement, including competitive conduct, strategy, logistics and management.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites


A Graduate Certificate in Management.

Recognition of Prior Learning


Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability


This fee-paying course is two semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. Some units are available in the evenings.

Course Organisation


Full-time and part-time lectures and research units.

Professional Recognition


Graduates are eligible to meet the requirements leading to full membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply in the United Kingdom.

Career Opportunities


Graduates are expected to obtain employment in both the public and private sectors. Public sector employers are State Supply Commission, Department of Contract and Management Services and Local Government authorities. Private sector employers include large commercial organisations and mining companies.

Additional Course Expenses


Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
