Introduction
The Foundation Program is designed to prepare students with a limited educational background to undertake study at Curtin (Sarawak and Western Australia). The Commerce stream prepares students for undergraduate studies in business and commerce. The Artsstream prepares students for undergrdauate studies in media studies or social sciences. The Engineering and Science stream prepares students for undergraduate studies in engineering, computer science. physics and chemistry.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
This program is designed for students who have completed at least five years of secondary school education, sat for the Malaysian SPM examination (equivalent to Year 11 or GCE 'O' Level) and obtained credit in five academic subjects including at least C6 in SPM English (equivalent to IELTS 5.5/TOEFL 520 points).
Duration and Availability
This course is one year full-time study and is available in both semesters.
Course Organisation
At application, students are required to consult with the foundation program coordinator to determine their eligibility and planned career pathways.
Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
Special Note
The course will only be delivered subject to sufficient numbers of students enrolling. Successful completion of the program will guarantee matriculation to the University but not to any particular course. Entry to courses is a Curtin teaching and school matter and students should be advised of the limitations of some programs.
