Introduction
This course aims to enhance the skills and depth of understanding of design through discussion, reflection and engagement in the design profession and society. Investigations and projects will lead to creative design insights and application, offering the potential for identifying niche markets and new application for design. Importantly the course encourages professional and personal development through investigative learning that is relevant and transferable to the circumstances of real organisations.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
This course is available to applicants who have a Bachelor degree, or equivalent, from a recognised tertiary institution. Applicants may also be considered for entry on the basis of vocational and/or professional experience. All applicants are required to attend an interview and may be required to submit a comprehensive folio of recent work.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
Duration and Availability
This fee-paying course is one semester full-time or equivalent part-time study.
Course Organisation
This course aims to broaden professional and vocational design interests and skills by engaging in professional design discourse and practice. It includes a combination of academically directed and individually inspired work, group activities and discussion.
Professional Recognition
Graduates are eligible for membership in the Australian Graphic Design Association, Perth Art Directors Club, Design Management Institute and Design Institute of Australia.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of design generally find employment within all avenues of design, including design studios, advertising agencies, public relations and marketing organisations. Additionally the student's research project can aid further in niche specialisation and self employment.

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
