Syllabus: This unit builds upon and extends the knowledge acquired by successful completion of Chemistry 201, Chemistry 202, Chemistry 211 and Chemistry 212. Topics to be addressed in this unit include: Organic structure characterisation: Advanced NMR, Mass Spectrometry including fragmentation processes (6 lectures); Analytical mass spectrometry: Hyphenated techniques (GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-MS, MS-MS) (6 lectures); Molecular spectroscopy: Regions of the spectrum, molecular moti on and spectra, determination of molecular parameters, identification of materials, (12 lectures);
