Syllabus: | Development of foundation competencies in understanding human anatomy. Selected topics include - terminology, osteology, arthrology, myology, peripheral nervous system and lower limb anatomy. |

Unit Outcomes: | On completion of this unit, students will have - Had an introduction to the structure and function of the body as a whole, especially the systems relating to sensation and movement, including an introduction to osteology, arthrology, myology and neurology. Completed a detailed examination of the bones, joints, muscles and somatic nerves associated with the pelvis and the lower limb, including their function. Developed and demonstrated knowledge of anatomy of the musculoskeletal system that is relevant toclinical presentation and to the practice of physiotherapy. Developed the ability to use anatomical terminology and describe the human musculoskeletal structure and movement. Discussed in detail the structure, functions and movements of the lower limb. |
