Syllabus: | Covers a range of methodological issues associated with the types of research conducted within the discipline of Psychology. It will focus particularly on the practical aspects of research, including such issues as reliability, validity and the interpretability of research data. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit it is envisaged that the student will have i) an appreciation of the diverse methodology available to psychologists, ii) a detailed understanding of experimental design including the choice of the appropriate statistical procedure, iii) working knowledge of qualitative data collection and analysis. A high level of competence in the use of SPSS for Windows. |
