Syllabus: | Evaluation of approaches to teaching reading. Research into recent developments in reading and reading pedagogy. The application of reading theories to develop repertoires of reading instructional practices in classrooms. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Critically analysed current research on psycholinguistic and socio-cultural theories about the reading processes. Linked literacy learning across different contexts. Applied theoretical knowledge, critical thought and current experience to a classroom action research project or reading issue of interest. |
