Syllabus:

Evaluation of approaches to teaching reading. Research into recent developments in reading and reading pedagogy. The application of reading theories to develop repertoires of reading instructional practices in classrooms.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Critically analysed current research on psycholinguistic and socio-cultural theories about the reading processes. Linked literacy learning across different contexts. Applied theoretical knowledge, critical thought and current experience to a classroom action research project or reading issue of interest.
