Consciousness alteration and psychoactive drugs, epidemiology of alcohol and other drug use, etiology and nature of alcohol and other related drug problems, prevention case studies. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Describe the properties of alcohol and other psychoactive drugs and their effects on the body. Discuss patterns and trends of alcohol and other drug consumption in Australia. Compare and contrast the legal, social and demographic aspects of alcohol and other drug use. Describe the public health approach to alcohol and other drug related problems. Discuss prevention techniques to minimize alcohol and other drug related harm. |
