Syllabus: | Research methodology and statistics. Scientific method, research design and process. Ethical issues relevant to research. Research reports. Descriptive statistics, sampling techniques, measurement, reliability and validity. Probability and tests of hypotheses. Computerised statistical packages. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - An understanding of scientific research methods and it's application to podiatry. An understanding of experimental, quasi-experimental research, design and descriptive studies. An ability to use computer software packages on personal computers in order to analyse data. An ability to apply basic inferential statistics to study designs. |
