Syllabus: | Provides a theoretical framework and develops appropriate research and writing skills to enable students to locate their practice as artists within the larger context of cultural theory. It explores the theoretical issues that inform contemporary art, writing and criticism. Students are encouraged to develop skills in creating written texts suitable for publication. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Attained skills in specific modes of research practice employed in the visual arts. A sound knowledge of areas of theoretical speculation and undertaken research into area apposite to their practice as an artist. Displayed a sound level of praxis between theory and studio practice. Articulated in both written and oral contexts critical issues pertinent to their own practice as artists. |
