Syllabus: | Overview of the nature of property and of real property law. The meaning of - land, estates and interests in land, equitable estates and interests in land, adverse possession of land, and dividing fences. Introduction to native title to land. Background to the Torrens system, features and operation of the Torrens system. Overview of co-ownership and strata titles, leases and Torrens mortgages. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - A practical awareness of fundamental principles of real property law. Acquired a working knowledge of the relevant statute and case law. Identified the nature of real property law problems and understood how to apply relevant legal principles to solve those problems. An enhanced ability to undertake individual legal research. Enhanced oral presentation skills in the area of real property law. |
