Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Compared and contrasted the construction of subjectivity and the articulation of identity in modernity and postmodernity. An understanding of how the construction of subjectivity and the articulation of identity relate to national identity. Analysed modern sport in terms of the relationship between work and leisure. amateurism and professionalism, and the development of its corporate profile. An understanding of the making of the athletic body, in terms of education, discipline and representation. Analysed the making of the fan and the representation of narrativisation in sport. |
