Syllabus:

A critical reflection on images of science and mathematics curriculum development. Topics include curriculum history in context, major curriculum constraints and outcomes based education. External students may participate in on-line learning via the Internet, and use e-mail to interact with lecturers and submit assignments.
 

Unit Outcomes:

Sound understanding of the concept of metaphor and its application to curricula, the social and political framing of curricula, the derivation and different types of outcomes based education. Critical reflection on your own curriculum practice. Imaginative thinking about your own curriculum practice. Successful engagement in a community of reflective inquiry (online & classroom modes only).
