Syllabus: | Designed to provide the appropriate theoretical framework and to develop appropriate research skills to enable students to locate their practice as an artist within the larger context of cultural theory. Students will be introduced to electronic information retrieval. Includes further case-studies of artists' research methodologies through visits to studios and exhibitions. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Developed skills in specific modes of research practice employed in the visual arts. Identified pertinent areas of theoretical speculation and undertaken research into area that are apposite to their practice as an artist. Completed their postgraduate diploma documentation portfolio. |
