Syllabus:

Organisation theory and health service management. The role of the health service manager. Leadership. Power, politics and professional groups. The design of work. The design of health care organisations. Organisational performance. Strategic management. Innovation and change.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to- Describe the organisational environment of the health services manager. Identify components of the role of the health services manager. Described the leadership role of the health services manager. Specify the role of the health services manager in organising the technical environment. Discern the health services manager's role in organisational renewal. Identify the strategic role of the health services manager.
