Syllabus: | Examination of the principles of curriculum planning and development for example, educational purposes, learning experiences, organisation of experiences and evaluation. Selection of content, planning and developing learning experiences, noting continuity, sequencing and integration. Selection of appropriate media and materials, implementing a developed unit in the field, evaluating the developed learning unit, development and interpretation of measures used in assessing student progress. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Applied the principles of curriculum development in the construction of courses, modules, programs, lessons and student learning materials. Demonstrated an understanding of the basic principles and approaches to curriculum planning and drawn from the relevant professional literature. Distinguished between the processes of evaluation and assessment and applied them appropriately for the purposes of student monitoring and reporting and course improvement. Applied common techniques and procedures associated with student grading, testing and assessment. |
