Syllabus: | Extension and consolidation of first year studies directly related to major studies. The program will be thematic, focusing on the formal, conceptual, analytical, experimental and expressive use of visual language. Embraces the appropriateness of media, aesthetic appreciation and effectiveness of communication. The students will engage in workshop projects held outside the studio space as well as participate in off campus field trips. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Demonstrated fundamental technical and conceptual skills in tackling set projects across a range of visual art disciplines. Developed imaginary ideas from primary sources. Demonstrated an ability to exploit the physical and expressive potential of various materials. Demonstrated an appropriate level of independent judgement, imagination and commitment to set projects. An understanding of conceptual and analytical processes as they relate to visual communication and the ability to utilise them within the project framework. |
