Syllabus:

Cultural and historical context. Builds on Cultural Narratives 111 and 112. Content varies - type of text, a sociocritical issue and or a literary period, for example - detective novel, gender and representation, 18th century gothic fiction. How historical and cultural conditions affect representations and meanings produced and circulated within societies.
