Syllabus:

A focus on developing computing skills using - Microsoft Word, Excel, the Internet and E-mail. Develops word processing competency, confidence in utilising the computer and understanding that the computer is a required tool for mainstream university studies.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this units, students will have- Demonstrated the ability to use computers as a tool by developing a working knowledge of computers and familiarity with common computer terms. Accessed and used programs on the hard-drive. Developed word processing skills for essay and report writing. Used formatting to present assignments in an acceptable university format. Used the Internet for research. Used e-mail as a communication tool. Used Excel for experience with spreadsheets and graphing exercises. Developed confidence to experiment with other forms of computer information and literacy, for example the internet, Web CT, SES E-mail.
