Syllabus:

The theory of designing information for presentation in different media, focusing on paper-based (posters, newspapers, magazines) and electronic communication media (World Wide Web - ezines, information sites, electronic newspapers, interactive information).
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Describe the major design principles for creating effective messages in both paper-based and electronic media. Produce designs of information in a desktop layout and publishing package, electronic presentation and electronic publishing software. Produce critiques of information designs in both paper and electronic media. Demonstrate how to use browsing and publishing software to both read and publish information created for a range of real-world applications and in different media.
