Syllabus:

In this advanced management systems unit students will study a range of specific and general models and operations research techniques and research their development and effective incorporation into practical decision support systems.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Defined research problems and had chosen appropriate techniques to analyse the problem and identified various analytical techniques used in farm management. Demonstrated skills and knowledge of principles and techniques learned in the unit including research design and/or project design goal setting, feasibility studies, optimisation and mathematical programming, simulation, soft systems, modelling and forecast goal setting and strategic planning, logistics and supply chain management. Applied specific techniques in case studies to demonstrate understanding and the practical uses of these analytical technique and identify the scope and limitations. Demonstrated use of information technology (including computers, web, etc) as a tool/resource when studying or analysing agribusiness systems.
