This will vary depending on the option unit chosen.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On completion of this unit students will be able to demonstrate - Familiarity with a range of theories which have historically constructed and defined approaches towards the recognition, intervention and prevention of child maltreatment. Awareness of a range of statistics regarding child maltreatment. Knowledge about a broad range of behaviours and practices which constitute child maltreatment and the effects of child maltreatment. Reflexive practice in regard to students own experiences and understandings of child maltreatment. A focus in practice on safety and victim advocacy and perpetrator accountability and rehabilitation. Ability to employ a range of emotional, physical and legal self-care strategies.
