Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Understood what is meant by specific learning difficulties and applied this knowledge, improving the education of pupils experiencing difficulties with learning at early childhood, primary and secondary levels. Identified and evaluated the contribution of psychological, educational and social factors to the development and maintenance of learning problems in the classroom. Knowledge and understanding and ability to apply collaborative principals in developing programs for pupils with learning difficulties. Recognised the classroom warning signs of learning problems. Utilised appropriate tools to assess individual pupils more intensively, and developed effective plans of interventions to improve learning outcomes for individual pupils. Implemented and evaluated selection intervention to improve the education of pupils with learning problems. Valued collaborative teamwork and balanced their unique and cooperative roles in education pupils with learning problems.
