Syllabus: | Supervision is an essential component of reflective practice. Designed for supervisees and considers the purposes and practices of supervision, the responsibilities of supervisor and supervisee, and the negotiation of supervision contracts. It assists supervisees to develop an ongoing learning approach that enhances skills and knowledge. A self-awareness weekend is included in this unit. |

Unit Outcomes: | On completion of this unit students will have - Been introduced to the theoretical models of supervision in counselling. Considered the purposes of supervision, the responsibilities of supervisor and supervisee, and the negotiation of supervision contracts. Commenced exploring the constraints, dilemmas and problems that can arise in supervision. Explored the supervisees use of self. Attended to personal issues that might diminish effective practice through a critical reflective process. |
