Syllabus:

To develop an understanding of the theories, processes and methods of regional planning and the links between regional planning theory and practice. To analyse the theories and objectives of regional planning in the context of national and international economic innfluences. To develop an appreciation of plan formulation, evaluation and implementation at the regional level.
 

Unit Outcomes:

Upon completion of this unit students will have developed an understanding of the rationale for regional planning, regional planning systems and regional spatial form. Developed an understanding of democratic theory and structures of government and the evolution of regional planning and how it has altered over time.
