Syllabus: | Radiation detectors, ionisation chambers, solid state detectors, counting statistics, radiation dose and exposure. The physics of nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography, single photon emission computed tomography. The physics of ultrasound, Doppler ultrasound. |

Unit Outcomes: | On completion of this unit, the student will understand the principles underpinning the use of ionizing and non ionizing radiation (ultrasound) and its interaction with matter. |
