Syllabus:

Introduction, technology and socio-economic institutions, case studies of German companies, The German-Australian business connection, German-Australian university connections, future perspectives amd revision and field trip.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On completion of this unit, students will have - An appreciation of the societal development of Germany from ruins to a leading industrial nation in Europe. Understanding of the complex interaction between German society and technology. An insight into the German education system. A basic understanding of the principles of the German language. Ability to apply the principles of sentence structure and language register to self-study exercises with the help of language dictionaries.
