Syllabus:

Advanced current developments in assessment, treatment techniques and specific sports rehabilitation for spinal and peripheral joints including sports specific conditions. Examination of recent theories and issues related to sports physiotherapy. Clinical application of advanced physiotherapeutic skills of assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation in sports injury clinics. Ethics and responsibilities.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On completion of this unit students will have - Developed an in depth and an advanced level of theoretical and clinical specialised competency in upper and lower quadrants and in the diagnosis, management and rehabilitation of specific sports injuries. Experienced the final stage of sports specific rehabilitation and management of the injured athlete. Integrated clinical reasoning skills and current research findings with clinical examination findings. Evaluated the level of evidence for the efficiacy of the physiotherapy management approaches when treating various sporting injuries.
