Syllabus:

Introduction to critical concepts and procedures for planning and conducting evidence based evaluations of programmes. Relevance of theoretical frameworks in planning a programme and its evaluation. Professional practice emphasising clinical reasoning, communication, teamwork and evaluation.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On succesful completion of this unit students will have - Described the critical concepts and procedures for planning and conducting program evaluations. Described the stages of the evaluation cycle and their application in the planning, implementation and review of a program. Developed an evaluation plan based on program theory. Applied program evaluation techniques and related these to quality improvement and evidence-based best practice. Demonstrated appropriate professional behaviours and effective communication and applied the concepts of clinical reasoning, reflection and evaluation within the professional practice setting.

Assignment 1 25%, Assignment 2 25%, Examination 50%, Clinical practice Pass/Fail. This is by grade/mark assessment. For successful completion of the unit students are expected to pass the exam, pass the assignments and pass professional practice.
