Syllabus:

Students undertake a research project or develop a community development initiative or conduct an evaluation of an existing project in either a local or international context. The format of this project is negotiated with the supervisor. Quantitative or qualitative strategies or a combination of both in undertaking the project.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Critically discussed 'community' both as a concept and a site for practice. Identified approaches relevant for practice within a particular community. Justified specific strategies for a particular context. Discussed roles and relationships among different stakeholders involved in a particular community. Demonstrated the ability to be reflective about community focused practice.
