Syllabus:

The philosophy of evidence based practice is examined in detail with examples from sources such as the P.E.D.R.O and Cochrane Collaboration databases. Necessary practical skills are developed in identifying, acquiring, evaluating and using evidence. Clinical decision making skills are developed through the appropriate use of statistical analysis which includes examination of various forms of statistical testing. Case presentations are used to integrate student learning.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Examined the philosophy of evidence based practice in detail using examples from sources such as the P.E.D.R.O and Cochrane Collaboration databases. Developed necessary practical skills in identifying, acquiring, evaluating and using evidence. Analysed clinical decision making skills through the appropriate use of statistical analysis which includes examination of various forms of statistical testing. Integrated student learning through case presentations.
