Syllabus: | An introduction to exhibition design. An overview of the different types of exhibitions - consumer, trade, promotion, product launch, display, shop fit out, mobile, museum. The procedures for making a site visit - the impact of lights, graphics and multimedia to the overall exhibition and the rules and regulations - government, council and health safety common sense, that applies to exhibition design. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this units, students will have - Been introduced to the different types of exhibitions - consumer, trade, promotion, product launch, display, shop fit out, mobile, museum. Been instructed in the procedures for making a site visit. Been made ware of the impact of lights, graphics and multimedia to the overall exhibition. Been made aware of the rules and regulations - government, council, health and safety, common sense that applies to exhibition design. Followed the process of project development that is - research, analysis, ideation, design development, production, communication and evaluation as the underlying basis for the practice of design. Understood the aesthetic and technical issues of design. Developed an open minded and critical thinking approach to design ideation and development. Applied problem solving skills to design. Fostered independent learning skills. Developed further skills to communicate design solutions through verbal, two and three dimensional methods. |
