Syllabus: | Develop an exhibition or other interpretation project through group work supported by a series of workshops in applied museology in selected topics - storyline development, content selection, label writing, conservation and design issues and writing an exhibition brief. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Gained an introduction to exhibition planning. Developed curatorial research skills. Experienced team work in a professional context. Developed liaison skills. Been introduced to a range of practical knowledge necessary for exhibition development such as copyright law, contractual arrangements, collection management and object handling amongst others. Written and produced a catalogue, interpretative text or a public program for an exhibition. Worked with other professionals in areas such as exhibition marketing. |

Unit Assessment Breakdown: | Administrative duties associated with development of the exhibition 10%. Contribution to class discussion 10%. Development and administration of promotion campaign 10%. Essay 25%. Planning and writing of labels 20%. Planning, writing and production of catalogue 20%. Installation of the exhibition 5%. This is by grade/mark assessment. All items of assessment must be completed in order to pass this unit |
