Syllabus: | Principles of rehabilitation. Models of nursing. Physical assessment. Management of client problems specific to dysphasia, dysphagia, sensory deficits, breathing, bladder and bowel and immobility. Principles of leadership and client advocacy. Case management. Fundamentals of research. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Relate principles of rehabilitation to models of health/wellness and nursing. Assess, plan, evaluate nursing care of individuals within a rehabilitation setting. Apply principles of case management and leadership in planning a rehabilitation program. Describe methods of nursing research applicable to rehabilitation nursing. |
