Syllabus: | Random variables - discrete, continuous, bivariate variables, expected value and variance. Distributions - normal, uniform, binomial, Poisson, students t-distribution, Chi squared, F-distribution and log normal distribution. Hypothesis testing and sampling. Linear regression. Non parametric methods. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Understand the fundamentals of statistics and will be able to use the common well-known distributions in problem solving. |
