Authentication Applications - Kerberos, X.509 Directory Auth. Electric Mail Security - PGP, S/MIME. IP Security. Web security - requirements, SSL, TLS, SET. Network Management Security - SNMP. Intruders and Virii. Firewalls - design principles, trusted systems. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will gain an overview of network security and its application in the modern world through the study of two broad areas - network security and system security. |
