Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Understand the relative merits of standard underground mining systems within a business framework so as to achieve a safe, profitable and productive outcome. Select an appropriate system and suitable equipment to suit a particular ore body. Be aware of the geo mechanics of the structures and the need for the selection of appropriate rock support systems. Consider the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations. |
