Syllabus:

Introduction to supply and value chain management (logistics). Procurement, transportation, inventory control, production, distribution, warehousing, order processing and information systems, customer service. Global logistics, e-business, e-logistics and order fulfillment using supply chain concepts. Inter-organisational information systems, relationship and linkages for supply chain members. Use of industrial standard software.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have the knowledge and understanding of, integrated logistics and supply chain in the business environment, elements of the supply chain and the concept of the supply chain, choice of appropriate software for quick and effective decision-making.
