Syllabus: | Geophysical techniques assist with delineating mineralisation and structures between drill holes and mine openings, with benefits such as reduced drilling expenditure and improved resource estimation. Covers property measurement, drill-hole logging, and electrical and electromagnetic, as well as magnetic, survey methods. Following on from basic theory, the course will involve practical interpretation techniques applied to data from several projects. |
|
Unit Outcomes: | On sucessful completion of this unit, students will have an understanding of the major geophysical techniques and knowledge of how to apply geophysical exploration techniques in the near-mine setting. |
