Syllabus: | Designed from a commercial perspective, focuses on the following industries - cement and lime, salt-soda ash-chlorine cycle, iron and steel, phosphate and fertilisers, refractory minerals, alumina, chemicals and construction. There will be an emphasis onunderstanding how technologies are implemented and their effect on costs. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- an understanding of the occurrence and properties of industrial minerals and the economics of industrial mineral mining operations. |
