Syllabus: | Introduces participants to the basic and core concepts of Human Resource Management (HRM) and the use of technology. Various aspects relating to HRM practice and technology. However, participants will be able to explore technological issues related to Human Resource issues relative to their professional needs. |

Unit Outcomes: | To provide participants with - the opportunity to explore issues in the area relevant to their professional needs. A basic understanding the use of technology in the practice of Human Resource Management (HRM) and its impact on the organisation. At thecompletion of the unit students are expected to be: Familiar with the process of selecting and implementing a Human Resources (HR) related technology, Familiar with the capabilities of HR related systems, Cognizant of the impact of technology on the functions of HRM and the organisation. |

Unit Assessment Breakdown: | Assessment will be discussed at the first session. Sample assessment components are Assignment 55%, Web Page 45%. Other options are group based assessment, peer assessment of projects, class presentations, exams and folios. Students must submit all assignment set, complete the exams and attend 80% of lectures if the course is to be assessed complete. Failure to complete the course results in a DNC - Did Not Complete - being awarded irrespective of the total mark obtained. This is by grade/mark assessment. |
