Syllabus:

Model dependent and independent approaches in pharmacokinetics. Analysis of drugs in biological fluids. Drug dissolution and biolequivalence. Therapeutic drug monitoring. Clinical pharmacokinetics of a range of selected drugs.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Developed an understanding of the use of pharmacokinetics in clinical practice. Developed a knowledge of diseases and other factors which influence pharmacokinetics parameters, and calculation skills to enable compensation for some of these factors in dosage regiment design. Demonstrated a knowledge and understanding of the clinically relevant pharmacokinetics of selected drugs. Developed the ability to apply pharmacokinetic knowledge and skills to therapeutic drug monitoring.
